The National College for School Leadership (NCSL) is a government-funded non-departmental public body (NDPB) in the UK which offers head teachers and school leaders opportunities for professional leadership development. It was set up in 2002.

NSCL is sponsored by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and has a primary remit for England, though its work has a strong international reputation.

In December 2008, NCSL's remit was extended by the government to include the training and development of directors and aspiring directors of children’s services. It will have a new name with effect from September 2009: the National College for Leadership of Schools and Children's Services.

It is based in a building on the Jubilee Campus of the University of Nottingham. It also has another site and a small office in central London.

Its web site is at http://www.ncsl.org.uk/

There is also a reasonably thorough wikipedia entry at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_College_for_School_Leadership - which some might argue is less "promotional" than the official website.

E-learning

NCSL uses a substantial amount of e-learning to deliver its programmes.
