The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a group of islands in the Bay of Bengal, and a union territory of India. The Andaman and Nicobar are two groups of islands, the former to the north, the latter the south.

The 2011 census records a population of 379,944 inhabitants in 3 districts. The capital and largest city is Port Blair.
