The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) supports delivery of fully online degree programmes. UIS is one of three campuses of the University of Illinois, enrolling only ~5,000 students a year. However, it is considered impressive in e-learning, having won many awards and distinctions for a small programme. In 2007, it offered 220 online classes to about 4,000 students (see http://www.uis.edu/newsbureau/people/2007/10/uis-receives-national-award-for-online.html) - and 16 bachelors and masters degrees completely online. Per UIS "at a glance", there are approximately 220 full-time faculty members and 4900 total students enrolled, including about 2,000 Graduate Students. Courses are available in degrees ranging from bachelor's to master's, in a wide range of topics, with nearly all courses available online (see http://www.uis.edu/online/ for a full list of online offerings). The UIS main office is in Springfield, Illinois, US.
More detailsUIS was established in 1969 as Sangamon State University.
